Governor Charlie!

As I was reading the new posts from you ladies on what you have accomplished, and crossed off your list I decided to refresh my memory on what was on my list.  Turns out I crossed something off my list just last weekend without even realizing it!

Last weekend, as I’m sure you all know was the Preakness Stakes horse race in MD.  Well, my boyfriend loves to gamble so as he was placing bets on the race he asked if I wanted to bet too!  Since I had already won $10 from him on a bet we did the night before, I took him up on it and bet $10 on Governor Charlie coming in 2nd at the race.

Unfortunately I didn’t win my bet (he came in 8th) but it was still fun none-the-less!  Until next year when I hope to win big money 😉

The Lottery

With all the hype of the $600 million power ball lottery drawing, I decided it would be the perfect time for me cross an item off my 30 before 30 list and play the lottery for the first time. As expected I messed up and went to buy the ticket with just $1 bill. Everyone told me it would only be a dollar. Well I went up to the machine with a 20 dollar bill and a 1 dollar bill and don’t you know the power ball was $2 dollars. The machine did not make change, so with a long line behind me and sweat beginning g to run down my arm pits I panicked and bought a mega million ticket instead. It was the first time experience that I had feared since I was 18, but at least I can say I’ve done it.

Checking Off Not One But Two!

11) Try Bikram Yoga
12) Take a Pole Dancing Class

I created my 30 before 30  list and to be quite honest I kind of forgot about it. So despite my slow place, I FINALLY scratched off two of my goals on my list and am re-energized and excited to accomplish more!

I conquered my first Bikram Yoga class. They just opened a brand new studio right up the street from my house: https://www.facebook.com/BikramCentreville

It was 90 minutes of 105 degree heat. For the sake of not embarrassing myself, no photographs were taken but I can ensure you I was drenched in sweat by the end of class.

I play soccer twice a week and I can say this yoga class made me more winded then I feel during a 90 minute soccer game. It was tough but relaxing all at the same time.

I would definitely recommend it to others and I look forward to dropping in for a class now and again. My husband even said he wants to try it!

Feeling amped from my Bikram experience, I was convinced on trying a teaser Beginner’s Pole Class at www.nova.aradiafitness.com. I managed to learn a fireman’s spin – and have the bruises to prove it. I’ll be back for more as I’ve registered for the 4 week Beginner’s Session, starting tomorrow! Wish me luck 🙂

Slowly but surely…

I was able to cross two things off of my list this past weekend. One of our best friends got married in New Port Richey, Florida this weekend and we were able to spend 4 days with some great friends. We spent most of our time traveling with and partying with a group of no less than 8, but usually around 12 people the whole time. To help lessen the burden on Mother Earth we tried to carpool to as many places as possible. I took this opportunity to conquer #27 on my list. I’ll be honest, I only rode shotgun once, but I can now say that I did it! We also went to Clearwater Beach, Florida which had the prettiest water and the best people watching and had the pleasure of dining at a Yacht Club where Rod Stewart’s cousin, Rob, was hired to entertain the old geezers. This was quite the show 😉
